I use a top quality mobile recording rig capable of recording up to 24 separate channels of audio. I use high quality Focusrite mic pre-amps to capture the best audio possible and everything is recorded onto a high spec Apple laptop for mixing in my custom home studio.

Because my setup is mobile, I can cater for a variety of different recording solutions.

Gig Recording – I can record live performances in any venue using a combination of direct signals, spot miking and ambient microphones to create accurate recordings that capture the experience, not just the sound. In the past I have recorded gigs for Sparrow and the Workshop, Curators, Woodenbox With a Fistful of Fivers, Randan Discotheque, Benbecula, Lead By Example and many more.

Single/EP/Album – For this kind of recording, location is key. The most important thing is that you are comfortable, so whether it’s a church, remote cottage or your front room, I can capture you at your best. I often record in the Wee Red Bar. It has loads of space, is easily customisable and creates a great atmosphere for recording. Recently I recorded and produced The Kays Lavelle album, the White Heath EP and have just started on an album for The Stormy Seas. I’m also in the middle of mixing a live album for Man Gone Missing which was recorded in a church.

Demo Recording – If you want to get a lot of songs recorded in a short space of time, then an evening of recording in the Wee Red Bar is ideal. A perfect low cost option for laying down demos of your new tunes.

I’m also offering a new demo recording service in partnership with Great Junction Street Music Studios. Want some songs recorded quickly and professionally and without the hassle? I’ll bring my high spec recording rig to your rehearsal room at GJMS and get your songs captured and ready for you to take home with you (assuming you allow time for mixing).
